Microsoft provides Y2k update for Windows 98

Microsoft has recently released a special bulletin to its registered users of Windows 98 addressing its year 2000 issues.

The company admitted there were several minor year 2000 problems in its operating system, although it was quick to point out that the problems would "pose no risk of data loss or other serious loss of functionality".

The glitch will mean that under certain conditions there may be an incorrect display of year 2000 dates. Microsoft has released a Windows 98 Year 2000 update which is available at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/The company believes its users will not come across the problem in the day to day use of their PCs nonetheless it is recommending that they obtain and install the patch.
