Canon releases $209 scanner

Canon has released a new colour scanner which it expects to break the $200 price point for scanners in the marketplace.

The FB310 is a compact colour flatbed scanner which is now available at an RRP of $209. The scanner features interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi and 30-bit input.

The actual size of the scanner is another bonus, a compact unit with a footprint slightly bigger than a sheet of A4 paper Canon says. According to the company, the FB310 weighs in at 2.7kg making it ideal for the home or small office.
