New Dell Inspiron PII notebooks

Dell Computer has added to its Inspiron range of notebooks with new Intel Pentium II models.

A 266MHz Pentium II Inspiron 3200 with 13.3in active matrix display is priced from $6149. A 233MHz model is priced from $5419.

Dell estimates system performance for these notebooks is 10 per cent better than previous systems based on Pentiums with MMX.

Dell has also announced price cuts on it client/server systems, with PowerEdge 4200 departmental servers coming down by up to 16 per cent, and OptiPlex desktops dropping in price by up to 8 per cent.
