Sony today announced it will inject 20,000 new Blu-ray players into Australian homes via a new Bravia TV promotion. From 16 March, anyone who buys a Sony Bravia LCD TV with Motionflow technology will receive a free Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray player valued at $649. The offer will continue until all 20,000 Blu-ray players are redeemed.
The Sony BDP-S550 includes a Full 1080/24p True Cinema capabilities, Bonus View, DVD upscaling, 1GB of internal memory, a USB port and BD-Live functionality. BD-Live allows users to access bonus interactive content via an Internet connection. The player also offers 7.1-channel Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus decoding, dts-HD High Resolution Audio and Master Audio bitstream output.
The Bravia TV models included as part of the promotion are the XBR series (including the Sony KDL-46XBR45, Sony Bravia KDL40XBR, Sony Bravia KDL52XBR), the Z series (including the Sony Bravia KDL40Z4500), the E and W series (including the Sony Bravia KDL52W4000, Sony Bravia KDL46W4000, Sony Bravia KDL40W4000), the ZX series, and the EX series.
Toby Barbour from Sony Australia said: "The opportunity to combine a smoother picture with Motionflow, Full HD resolution and the latest Blu-ray content is an experience not to be missed. With a limited number of Blu-ray players available though — only 20,000 — the offer won’t last long."
