The new Hero3+ range is available in Australia from tomorrow, and will come in two models. The mid-range 'Silver Edition' will retail for $429, while the flagship 'Black Edition' costs $529.

GoPro claims the flagship Black Edition is 20 percent smaller than its predecessor, while also boasts improved optics. The company says it has faster Wi-Fi for quicker transfer and playback of photos and videos.

Other new features include an auto low light mode that adjusts the frame rate of videos depending on the lighting conditions, along with a new SuperView, wide-angle video mode.

The mid-range Silver Edition has also been upgraded and is now able to record full HD, 1080p video at 60fps, and 720p HD video at 120fps.

GoPro claims both the Black and Silver Edition models of the Hero3+ offer up to 30 per cent better battery life than last year's Hero3 range. Battery life was widely criticised in previous models.

Along with the two new Hero3+ camera, GoPro has also announced three new mounting accessories.

A flex clamp called "Jaws" clamps to a variety of irregular and slim objects, a chest harness called "Junior Chesty" is designed for kids over three years old, and a "QuickClip" will allow low-profile mounting to baseball hats, belts and other objects.

The new GoPro HERO3+ range and new accessories will be available to purchase through the company's Web site from tomorrow.
