The evleaks Twitter account, which has a solid track record when it comes to publishing rumours, has also suggested the device will officially be unveiled on Friday, 1 November.

The white version of the Nexus 5 appears to follow the same design as the Nexus 4, utilising a white finish on the back, but a remaining black on both the front and sides.

While the Nexus 5 is yet to be officially unveiled, a number of leaks have been published over the past few weeks.

The phone is expected to have a 4.95in, full HD IPS display, will be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and will have 2GB of RAM.

The Nexus 5 will also come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a front-facing 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, and a 2300mAh battery.

Like most Nexus devices, the Nexus 5 will not have removable storage. It will be available in 16GB and 32GB models, an upgrade over the Nexus 4's 8GB and 16GB options.

The biggest technical addition to the Nexus 5 will be 4G-connectivity, a feature that was lacking in the Nexus 4.

Last week, the Nexus 5 briefly appeared on the US Google Play Store before disappearing very quickly. US Web site The Verge reported that the phone was listed for US$349, which was the same price the 16GB model Nexus 4 sold for when it debuted last year.
