While both 16GB and 32GB models of the black Nexus 5 are still available to order on the Australian Google Play Store, Aussies will now have to wait between three and four weeks for the device to ship.

Initial orders of the black model earlier today listed a dispatch time of 1-2 business days for both models, but there is now a dispatch time of "3 - 4 weeks".

At the time of writing, both 16GB and 32GB models of the white version are scheduled to ship by next Friday, 8 November, though it isn't likely to be too long before this stock is exhausted, either.

The 16GB model Nexus 5 sells for $399 while the 32GB model retails for $449.

There are currently no plans for Australian carriers to sell the phone, but manufacturer LG released a media statement today saying further details on additional sales channels will be released once the device has completed "local network testing".

"Further information on the retail launch date, operator partner, pricing and sales channels will follow on completion of local network testing."

Google has been heavily promoting and selling its own-brand Android devices but the company has a history of stock shortages.

It severely struggled with Nexus 4 stock levels since its worldwide launch back in November 2012.
