Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are arguably the most anticipated new smartphones this year, but who has the best deals for the new phones and which one should you pick?

The first thing you need to consider is the network itself. Some telcos have better coverage in some areas than others and coverage in your area should be a top priority as there are few things more frustrating than not getting coverage in your home or places you regularly visit or travel through.

All the telcos including Optus, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile have released the pricing of pre-order plans for the new devices.

Telstra was the first to announce its plans earlier in the week and is offering the S7 for $79 per month and the Edge for $86 with 1GB data and $550 worth of calls and texts. The plans top out at $195 for either phone, with 20GB data and unlimited talk and text.

For business users, plans start at $81 for the S7 and $88 for the Edge, including 1.5GB of data and $800 talk and text. These plans also go up to $195 for either phone, with 20GB data and unlimited talk and text.

Optus’ 24-month plans start at $64 per month for the S7 handset and unlimited calls, texts and 500MB data. For the S7 Edge, it will cost you $71 per month for the handset and same plan inclusions.

On a 24-month plan, Vodafone is offering the S7 Edge for $90 a month including handset, 6GB of data and unlimited texts and calls.

For the S7, Vodafone offers the handset, unlimited talk and text and 500MB of data for $75 month.

Virgin Mobile's cheapest plan starts from $60 per month for the S7 and $65 per month for the S7 Edge. Both plans offer the handset, $300 of texts and calls and 300MB of data.
