Silicon Valley-based robotics and artificial intelligence company Anki has announced it’ll be bringing its latest robotic products to Australian retailer.
The company will be rolling its Cozmo and Overdrive products out to local retailers JB Hi-Fi and Australian Geographic from the 29th of September.
Both are available to pre-order from today. However, only JB Hi-Fi customers will be able to pick up the limited Liquid Metal Finish edition of the Cozmo and the Fast & Furious-themed version of the Anki: Overdrive starter kit.
Described as “a small robot with a big brain,” Anki CEO Boris Sofman says that “Cozmo is bringing advanced robotics into the home in an engaging and emotive way”.
According to Sofman, “[Cozmo] has been intricately designed to have a deep personality and character traits like the robots that we’ve come to love in Hollywood films, and we’re incredibly excited for everyone to meet him.”
Anki claims that Cozmo has a brain that “processes more data per second than all the Mars rovers combined” and that the free Cozmo app (compatible with iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices) “comes packed with gameplay content and constantly introduces new ways to play.”
