Australia’s Love of Tech Prevails as Amazon Reveals the Top Ten Best Selling Products since Launch

Amazon.com.au has revealed the best-selling products since launching its retail offering one week ago. Aussies prove their love of tech, with eight of the top ten products falling into that category.

The top four best-selling items are video games with FIFA 18 PS4 topping the list, closely followed by CALL OF DUTY: WW2 PS4.

The popular non-tech items to make it to the top ten are books, with Australian author, Scott Pape’s The Barefoot Investigator coming in at number seven and Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredient – Quick & Easy Food ranking as the eighth best-selling product in Australia.

With Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiering in Australian cinemas, it isn’t surprising that two of the best-selling products on the list are Star Wars related. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story CD and the Star Wars Death Star 3D LED Lamp have also piqued Australians’ interest in the run up to the big release.

“In the run up to Christmas it is not surprising to see video games featuring prominently in the top ten. Outside of the top ten, Australians have been buying everything from daily essentials, including nappies and socks, to bigger purchases such as wearable tech and cameras,” said Rocco Braeuniger, Country Manager of Amazon Australia.

“We focus on the Australian customer and on long term success. With this in mind we continue to work hard to deliver great customer experience and fast delivery; and to provide customers with an ever increasing selection of products at low prices.”

New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia reflect their love of tech with their top five best-selling products being entirely technology based. Only Tasmania and Northern Territory buck the trend with books, makeup and household goods making it to their top five best-selling products.

Customers across Australia can visit Amazon.com.au and shop from tens of millions of products across more than 20 categories with benefits such as everyday low prices and fast delivery options. Customers can enjoy free delivery on eligible orders above $49 that are sold by Amazon. A one-day delivery service is available in select areas across Australia.
