PAX AUS 2018: HyperX branch into membrane keyboards with Alloy Core RGB

HyperX are expanding from their trademark mechanical keyboards into membrane with the new HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard, shown off at PAX Australia 2018.

The new HyperX Alloy Core RGB features the same dedicated gaming function keys you’ll find on the company’s other keyboards. Unfortunately, it doesn't integrate with the company’s NGenuity RGB lighting ecosystem. Instead, you're able to toggle the colored lighting (split into five zones) on the keyboard between six different effects and three brightness levels using a set of shortcuts built into the hardware.

HyperX are also saying the keyboard is spill resistant and tested to withstand 120ml of liquid.

HyperX couldn’t give us a price yet but indicated that it’d be positioned as more of an entry-level option than the company’s existing mechanical solutions like the HyperX Alloy FPS Pro and HyperX Alloy FPS Elite.

The HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard is expected to hit the Australian market in December.

Disclosure - MSI covered the cost of our flights and accommodation for PAX Australia 2018.
