IT online retailer, City Software, has acquired encumbered Sydney etailer E-Store.
As part of the acquisition, Melbourne-based, City Software, will inherit all of E-Store’s assets including intellectual property.
The acquisition will allow City Software to expand its online hardware retail business, which was Sydney-based E-Store’s core business.
Managing director of City Software, Lorenzo Coppa, said City Software inherited extensive hardware expertise when it merged with IT e-tailer, ISWH, in March 2001 and the E-Store acquisition would consolidate its position in this market.
City Software’s strong back-end delivery system and short shipment cycles were paramount to its success and was critical to its survival of the dot-com crash.
Coppa said that many online retailers made the detrimental mistake of focusing only on delivering the lowest possible prices rather than their order fulfilment processes.
