Microsoft should go down

Replying to your article in the July PC World regarding whether or not Microsoft is being unfairly treated by the US Justice Dept.

My opinion is Microsoft should go down for its practice of imposing a penalty of "You will install Internet Explorer regardless" on customers. It needlessly takes up disk space should you choose to use Netscape. With the last beta version of Win98, and there is reason to suppose the shipping version will be the same, you can't choose to not install IE. OK you can disable it and have Win look and feel as Win95 does without the integration of IE but that is not the point.

A user should be able to choose and not have IE shoved down one's neck taking up valuable disk space. The problem with corporations growing dominant is their arrogance grows to the point where they think the world will bow and scrape to their whim. That is what we have seen for a number of years from Microsoft and who is responsible? The CEO of course.
