Asus has released two new notebooks powered by Intel’s Core i7 processor. The G60J and M60J models both feature a 16-inch high definition display.

Intel only recently announced the quad-core i7 chips and Asus has been quick to integrate the new technology which aims to address the increasing need for multiple tasks such as video editing, gaming and immersive applications.

The G60J, with immersive audio reproduction, runs on a nVidia GeForce GTX260M graphics card with 1GB video random access memory (VRAM). The model offers Turbo Boost technology for CPU performance, Atlec Lansing speakers, EAX Advanced HD 4.0 and 64 sounds effects for supported games. The Asus G Series is fitted with an illuminated keyboard that enables gamers to play into night. For users who are looking for a more compact version of this model, Asus also offers the 15.6-inch G51J.

The M60J uses a GeForce GT 240M graphics card with 1GB DDR3 VRAM and features high capacity storage for multimedia entertainment. Its Altec Lansing speakers have Dolby 2 Home Theatre certification.

The M60J has a dual hard disk drive, which provides up to 1TB of storage. It also features Al TouchMedia, a one-touch multimedia centre with a control panel that combines both hardware and software interfaces to control multimedia such as photographs, music and the playback of videos. Users will be able create playlists, modify pictures and watch movies and videos effortlessly.

The laptop’s palm rest and lid are made with aluminum to resist everyday wear such as scratches. The keyboard design features concave key-caps and tighter key-spacing, which helps minimise dust accumulation and improves water resistance
