HTC is expected to unveil its rumoured HTC One Android phone next week, after it sent invitations to Australian technology media to attend an "exclusive HTC product launch".
The invitation, which was addressed to various technology media outlets in Australia, invites attendees to "explore HTC's newest and most anticipated device" at the event, which is scheduled for Thursday 21 February in Sydney.
The invitation comes just days after a press image of what appears to be an unreleased HTC Android phone was leaked on Twitter account @evleaks. The leaked device is being referred to as the HTC One but was previously rumoured to be codenamed M7.
Interestingly, the Sydney product launch will see two bands playing. HTC published an infographic last week suggesting it will "kick off a new sound and camera experience in 2013," while the images of the HTC device leaked earlier this week suggest the phone could have dual speakers.
The rumoured HTC One device is expected to feature a 4.7in full HD display and is likely to come with the latest version of the company's Sense user interface, version 5.0.
In addition to the Sydney media event, HTC will hold a press event in New York on Tuesday 19 February. The event is scheduled a few days before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 event in Barcelona, Spain.
MWC is the world's largest mobile trade show and traditionally sees most major mobile manufacturers release new smartphones.
