Acer expands gaming notebook lineup with Predator Helios 300

Acer has confirmed that their Predator Helios 300 gaming notebook, announced earlier in the year, will be coming to Australian customers in October.

"Designed as an entertainment hub, Predator Helios 300 notebook line is ideally suited for both gaming and movie watching. Bright 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch FHD IPS displays provide vibrant, vivid imagery, while Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony deliver immersive audio with crisp, rich acoustics", Acer said in a press release.

Available in two different sizes (15.6-inch and 17.3-inch), the Helios 300 boasts an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1050Ti GPU combined with a 7th Gen Intel Core i7 (7700HQ) or i5 processor (7300HQ) processor, up to 32GB of RAM plus the usual storage combo of SATA SSD and hard drive.

The gaming notebook also features a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a single USB 3.0 port (featuring power-off USB charging), two USB 2.0 ports, and a HDMI 2.0 connector. It's all wrapped together by a matte black chassis that Acer says "incorporates tasteful red accents, providing a slightly edgy, fun design."

The 15.6-inch Helios 300 will be available in Australia from October at Harvey Norman, starting at a recommended retail price of AUD $2299.

Meanwhile, the 17.3-inch model will be available from Q4 at Radio Rental SA, starting at AUD $2999.
