LG Electronics introduces AI enabled robotic vacuum

LG has introduced the R9 CordZero robotic vacuum, with built in artificial intelligence machine learning.

Courtesy of LG's 'Deep ThinQ’ machine learning tech, the R9 can recognise objects and room layouts and learn to navigate around them. The R9 uses an onboard camera and laser sensor to analyse the space, by mapping its path as it navigates around the room.

The R9’s Smart Quick Charge feature means that if the battery runs low before the vacuum has finished its full cleaning schedule it will automatically return to its docking station for a short duration charge.

The R9 HomeView feature lets users access the machine remotely via a compatible smartphone and view inside their home using the front mounted camera. Users can control the vacuums motion with the on-screen controls.

With the HomeGuard feature, the vacuum can be positioned in a set location in the home and enabled to detect unexpected motion. If something is detected, the vacuum takes 5 pictures of the area and sends them to a connected smartphone.

The R9 CordZero robotic vacuum is available now for $1899 from Harvey Norman.
