MSI laptops boosted with new 9th-Gen Intel Core i9 processors

Games just got a whole lot faster.

MSI have revealed that their gaming and content creator laptops will receive CPU and GPU upgrades in May, taking advantage of the new generation of Intel Core i9 processors.

Using Intel’s new 9th-gen Core i9 chipsets and NVIDIA GeForce RTX and GTX graphics cards, the company claimed in a press release that the changes will make their laptops 45% faster than their predecessors.

The updated MSI GT Titan sports the new 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9980HK and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU. According to preorder listings on Newegg.com, the new model’s base CPU speed (2.4GHz) is slower than its predecessor (8th Gen at 2.9GHz), though the new processor features two more cores and is capable of overclocking up to 5GHz. This is great for newer games like Apex Legends and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

The content creator line will also receive a new model, the 17-inch P75, alongside a face-lift for the existing 15.6-inch P65. According to preorder listings on Newegg.com, both will feature 9th Gen i9-9980H CPUs out of the box, clocked at 2.3GHz with 8 cores.

Even with 4K UHD displays and GeForce RTX 2070 GPUs, both models still remain lightweight and portable for the artist on-the-go. The P75 weighs in at just 2.25kg, which is impressive for the high-end tech it contains.
