IT charity fund to raise money for kids

Staff from companies like Com Tech, IBM, Compaq, Optus, Cisco and Dell will donate money to "Putting IT Back", as the charity is known, on 17 November. Funds will then be directed to the Starlight Children's Foundation and Giant Steps - both children's charities.

Other companies that will be involved are NEC/Packard Bell, Lucent, Lotus, MYOB, f2, Citrix, Powerlan, Volante, eSign, Sun, Professional Advantage, Davnet, Austar Pay TV, Web Methods, Quicken and eCorp.

The fund hopes to raise $250,000 on the day. The money raised will go toward granting wishes, the Starlight Express Rooms located in children's hospitals around the country, Starlight Fun Centres equipped with bedside entertainment for kids, mobile Express Rooms that visit country and regional hospitals, and Giant Steps programs.
