Hisense 4K ULED Televisions provide a powerful viewing experience and it’s Incredible. Last year was something of a tipping point in the world of TVs and it was all down to Hisense. The brand that was synonymous with great-value and low-cost TVs introduced us to its new ULED range and changed the market.
It wasn’t just that Hisense’s Series 7 ULED TV was more-affordable than the big-brand traditional, flatscreen LCD TV players Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic, the picture quality and functionality was significantly better than all of them. Suddenly, everyone could have a top quality, super thin, Smart TV in their homes for a fraction of the price to what the market was used to.
Now that we are here in 2017, Hisense has introduced us to not just an updated Series 7 model but two new ranges – the Series 8 and Series 9.
The new Series 7 TVs are available in 50, 55, 65 and 75-inch models. They are still the same super-thin design but now the picture quality is better, everything works a lot faster and there are more features. Colour performance is still amongst the best in the business with a colour gamut that puts most other LCD TVs on the market to shame. The blacks are still ‘true black’ to levels that seem to defy the laws of physics. It’s a result of the internationally-patented ULED technology which no competitor can match.
The new 4K ULED Series have HDR Plus technology built in meaning that the Dynamic Range on offer has actually been improved. There are now more details in bright and dark areas (simultaneously!) to an even greater degree and performance was already better than other rivals which launched with HDR.
There is also the new and improved operating system, VIDAA U. While the previous version was good, fast and well-featured, there was an opportunity for something even smarter. VIDAA U is now much faster and more responsive when loading up Smart TV apps and switching between them. Netflix and Stan apps are built in and the TV works out of the box with Freeview Plus channel management all set-up. There’s nothing more annoying than a slow-to-respond TV so this, together with the speedy, well-designed, intuitive remote makes using the TV a breeze. Add to that the built-in Netflix button, getting lost in menus has now become a thing of the past.
VIDAA U is also more streamlined and customisable. The user interface now resembles a simple ribbon design with all items appearing on a single menu. It can also, usefully, detect when any external devices are connected.
But there’s more.
Hisense has provided a model for those who want to show off a sculpted, highly-attractive TV to those houseproud people who know that a TV is the central design feature of any home and whom are subsequently prepared to pay a bit more.
The new Hisense Series 8 TVs have the similar great picture and features of the new 7 Series models, but Hisense have upped the ante with even greater brightness and colour reproduction, but the standout feature for many will be the new chromed stand and higher-quality bezel. Now visitors will be able to identify your top-quality TV before you even turn it on!
And if that wasn’t impressive enough, there’s the new Hisense Series 9 which dials everything up to the next level by offering UHD Alliance Premium Certification. This means that its resolution, colour depth, dynamic range and contrast ratios have been measured to fit the exacting standards of the UHD Alliance – a group that is made up of all the big TV manufacturers AND the major Hollywood Studios.
On top of this, Hisense has also introduced “HDR Supreme” which boosts brightness to a whopping 1000 nits which is particularly impressive considering the colour, contrast and true black performance is still top notch.The colours are also now created using Quantum Dot technology. This colour technology is usually available in TVs that cost more than double and which simultaneously struggle (badly) to offer true blacks and top-quality dynamic range. Hisense has managed to combine this Quantum Dot with true blacks, contrast and dynamic range to redefine the title of best value, best performing LCD TV – the title which it has already held.
Then there’s the design. If you want to stop people in their tracks by adding a bit of avant garde to your world, then the Series 9 is made for you. The front-facing speakers and curved base turns the TV into an objet d’art.
On top of that, the Series 9 is available in massive 75 and 85-inch version sizes – sizes that traditionally command ludicrous, five-figure prices are now rendered affordable by Hisense.
So whatever TV you want, Hisense has you covered – from high value, great performance to massive frickin’ gorgeous telly on your wall. Hisense has once again spearheaded change in the market. The company hasn’t just shamed the big boy brands this time, it’s joined them… and at the heads of the table too.
