Epson

Epson has an extensive range of Multifunction printers, data and home theatre projectors, as well as POS printers and large format printing solutions.

Epson’s new printer is its simplest, but most brilliant

We’re living in an age overpopulated with smart devices - heart-monitoring watches, Wi-Fi-controlled bulbs, you name it.When it comes to printers, many brands follow suit and are releasing multi-functional printers that do it all, even if they’re just satisfactory at performing them.

Epson has gone against the grain with the new Epson EcoTank Monochrome  ET-M1100 printer. In fact, it doesn’t scan, copy or fax. It does, however, print in black and white at an astounding cost of half a cent per page.

Save Money

The EcoTank ET-M1100 is, simply put, a money-saving marvel you really shouldn’t ignore. You may suggest that it is a tad expensive at $239, but the deal breaker comes at how you get to half a cent per page.

The refill ink bottle costs  $24.99 for 6,000 pages. That’s $0.004165, or less than half a cent per page.

Now, a typical black laser toner is $50 for 1000 pages. That’s $0.05, or 5 cents per page.

That’s an impressive saving of 4.5 cents with every single page printed using the ET-M1100.

Better yet, the EcoTank ET-M1100 comes with 5000-pages/2 years’ worth of ink straight out from the box!

Spill Less

When the ink tank eventually runs close to empty, it’s quite the simple task to refill them thanks to the mess-free ink bottle system.

You simply insert the ink bottle’s spout into the printer inlet.

There’s no squeezing involved, and the ink flow will stop automatically when the tank is full.  Unlike other continuous ink printers, there’s little chance of spillage.

Waste Not

As with other Epson EcoTank printers, the EcoTank ET-M1100 is more environmentally-friendly than many traditional cartridge-based solutions.

The EPA estimates more than 375 million ink and toner cartridges are thrown out in the US every year. Most of this ends up in landfill. Australia isn’t much better - according to Planet Ark, Australians send 34 printer cartridges to landfill every minute.

Epson Australia is a Planet Ark partner in recycling cartridges, and the ET-M1100 reflects that relationship. Rather than using bulky toners or cartridges that contribute to landfill, the ET-M1100’s refillable ink tank means no more cartridges are needed.

Simple But Brilliant

The Epson EcoTank Monochrome delivers specialised features and value-driven capabilities that represent significant savings for users looking to print in black and white only.

Rather than offer a printer with a lot of features that may not be great at any single task, it has created a printer that is brilliant at doing one job and one job only.

And to cap it all off, this monochrome printer is also easy to operate and, like Epson’s colour EcoTank, supports wireless printing from a smartphone or tablet via the Epson iPrint app and email (only available with the ET-M1120 model).

If you’re looking to reduce your out of the box printing costs, environmental impact and long-term upkeep, Epson’s EcoTank ET-M1100 must be considered.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
