My first impression of the Huddle Board was that it looks sleek and kind of like a TV. Initially I thought the device might have been a little large for a small meeting environment, however the dimension of the screen is just right that everyone is able to see the display clearly even though we were seated about five metres away. The visual display is clear and sharp and ticks all the boxes for a small collaborative meeting environment, and the anti-glare screen is definitely helpful as our meeting room gets a lot of natural light in the day time.
In our office, we usually have small meetings with our internal team about two to three times a week and also monthly and bi-monthly meetings with our retailers and suppliers. The types of meetings that we conduct range from operational meetings to product showcases and demonstrations to clients and our global team.
With a full HD delivery at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, the Sharp Huddle Board delivers high resolution imagery and colors on the screen which is a big plus in a small meeting environment. This is especially important when we are conducting internal product and packaging run throughs. With the Sharp Touch Viewing software, we were able to manipulate multiple types of files (JPEGs and PDFs) on the documents and send it straight back to the manufacturer.
Collaboration tools are extremely important in our offices. Prior to using the Sharp Huddle Board, our meetings were mostly conducted with traditional whiteboards and paper easels (which weren’t the most cost effective or environmentally friendly). This made keeping track of meeting notes difficult as we usually had to take a picture of the whiteboard after the meeting or rip the paper off the easel to scan or re-type into a word document. This was inefficient and made sharing meetings notes a hassle.
With the Sharp Pen Software, this pain point was easily resolved as the program acted as a digital whiteboard. The program allowed us to use the stylus or our fingers as a “whiteboard marker” to scribble notes on the Huddle Board. Once we were done with the meeting, we could easily export the notes into a PDF format and send it via email to all meeting attendees.
It was also a great benefit to be able to use the screen as a standalone device without actually having to connect to another mobile device. There was an instance where I had left my laptop in another office location and this functionality actually allowed me to conduct the meeting without having to borrow a laptop from the IT department. Post-meeting I was able to send the writings in a PDF format to my email account so I was able to follow-up on the notes when I managed to get back to my desk and logged into my email account.
One of the big pluses of the Huddle Board is the ability to be able to customise the board according to your unique business needs. With the webcam attached we were able to make Skype calls on a big screen to our global counterparts.
I would rate this Sharp Huddle Board a 5 out of 5. In my previous experience with display screens at work, I have never used one that is as interactive and promotes collaboration. The biggest perks for me would be that it comes with easy to use and comprehensive programs that make the collaboration process a whole lot more intuitive and organic.
