The Huddle Board’s built in program; Sharp Touch Viewing software allows us to easily manipulate and edit our documents (jpegs and PDFs) all at the same time on the dashboard.
Our small team of six members are responsible for on-boarding new employees within the council to ensure they have a good understanding of the organisation structure and policies. On top of this, we are also responsible for coordinating a number of internal social events a number of times a year for council employees.
During the busy period, we could be holding up to six or more small meetings a week with internal staff for training sessions and external suppliers for event logistics discussion.
My first impression of the Sharp Huddle Board is that it is relatively simple to use and navigate around. The size of the Huddle Board itself is rather compact and perfect for our team to conduct small meetings and training sessions internally. The fonts, graphics and resolution of the device is sharp enough so it is legible for all attendees. The touch sensitivity also flows smoothly and our team actually preferred the touch option to the keyboard or the stylus.
The Huddle Board operational functionalities are quite similar to a PC or laptop. A big plus is that it can be used as a stand-alone screen so there is no need to invest more money into purchasing secondary devices.
In the meetings that we conduct, one of the most common things we do is making multiple updates to a training document or an event brief. In the past, it can be extremely frustrating to make these changes, as we had to mark it up on a hard copy of the document, scan it and email it to all parties involved or try to do it on one individual laptop and passed it around the attendees. These documents can vary from 10 pages to 80 pages and above which made scanning, printing and tracking these changes extremely time consuming. The council is also encouraging employees to be mindful of the environment and to keep print volumes to a minimum so the Huddle Board definitely puts us on the front foot of this initiative.
The Huddle Board’s built in program; Sharp Touch Viewing software allows us to easily manipulate and edit our documents (jpegs and PDFs) all at the same time on the dashboard. This definitely helps facilitate our training program as we usually present across both Powerpoints and PDFs. The ability to make annotations on the documents is also super handy for my demonstrations. This program saves us quite a lot of time in jumping from tab to tab on a laptop and makes for a great collaboration tool as all attendees can be involved in marking changes to the document with the stylus or their fingers. Spending time adjusting the document has now become so much quicker and more convenient, which leaves us with more time to work on the more important things.
I give this Huddle Board 4 out of 5 stars as it is definitely a multi-functional tool that helps promote collaboration in the modern workplace and a big positive is that it can be easily malleable to cater to different business needs.
