    $ 69.00 (AUD)

Available for just $69 through Virgin Mobile, LG's L7 GB110 is one of the cheapest mobile phones we've ever reviewed. Despite the budget price, the LG L7 GB110 mobile phone offers an FM radio, MP3 player and removable storage via a microSD card slot. Inexcusably, however, Bluetooth is omitted.

The LG L7 GB110 is sleek and compact, with rounded edges and corners. It’s a particularly stylish phone thanks to the gloss brown finish on the front, etched circle patterns on the rear and the glossy plastic surrounding the display. The phone is light and comfortable to hold in your hand; it's much slimmer and more stylish than the competing Nokia 1209.

The budget price point is evident when it comes to the display: the LG L7 GB110's screen is one of the smallest we've seen on a mobile phone. Its position near the top of the phone also makes it a little awkward looking. The extra room below it is well utilised though, with a large and comfortable keypad. The keys feel soft and spongy but provide excellent tactility and are well spaced.

The controls are a different story, as there is no five-way navigational pad. Instead, a four-way navigational pad is present and provides shortcut keys for message inbox, camera, FM radio and phonebook functions. Two selection keys and answer/end call buttons aid the process, though using the left selection key instead of a centre button (like you would on a five-way navigational pad) does take some time to grasp.

The LG L7 GB110's menu is one of the most basic we've seen, with LG using a simple 2x3 grid layout. At this price point, features are few and far between, but an FM radio and music player do make this phone worthwhile considering. There is also a microSD card slot for extra memory — a feature sometimes not even included in far more expensive phones.

The FM radio works well and a built-in antenna means you don’t need the included headphones plugged in to use it. The radio has 12 presets and features an autoscan function. A VGA camera is also included, but the quality of photos is predictably poor and the lack of flash makes it virtually useless in low-light conditions. Other features include an alarm, games, calendar, memo, calculator, stopwatch, world clock and unit converter.

The lack of Bluetooth is inexcusable. Similar phones, such as the Samsung E2510, manage to include this functionality despite having a similar price tag..
