In pictures: Nokia launches N96 in Australia

Nokia Australia recently announced the availability of its flagship N-Series handset, the N96.

  • The N96 boasts a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash.

  • The N96 will be available on all four Australian carriers (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and 3 Mobile) from 26 September and carries a recommended retail price of $1349.

  • Nokia Australia recently announced the availability of its flagship N-Series handset, the N96. The N96 is a successor to the popular N95 and N95 8GB handsets.

  • A 2.8in display, built-in stereo 3-D speakers and an integrated kick-stand combine to provide an excellent video experience. The handset also includes a TV-out cable.

  • People purchasing the N96 in Australia will receive Share on Ovi, a service enabling the uploading and storage of personal media, three trial games on Nokia’s N-Gage service and a $20 voucher for Nokia’s Music Store.

  • The TV series can be downloaded using a PC and then synchronised onto the N96 using Windows Media Player 11.

  • The N96 also offers Australian consumers the choice of downloading one of four series of leading BBC TV shows: Walking with Dinosaurs, Little Britain, The Catherine Tate Show and Yes Minister.

  • With 16GB of internal memory in addition to a microSD card slot, the N96 can store up to 40 hours of video content. It supports common video formats including MPEG-4, Windows Media Player and Flash.

  • The N96 includes built-in GPS with Nokia Maps software, and Australian consumers receive three months free turn-by-turn navigation in the sales package.
