    This is without a doubt our favourite 10in netbook on the Australian market. It's solidly constructed, it has isolated keys similar to the [[artnid:310189|HP ProBook]] line-up, and its configuration is a cut above the average: you get an Intel Atom N280 CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 320GB, 7200rpm hard drive. Sure it runs Windows Vista, but you can always upgrade to Windows 7; and because it's Vista, you can download Windows 7 and install it over the top, rather than go through [[artnid:322583|a USB key installation like you would if it was Windows XP]]. You can buy the HP Mini 5101 netbook from [[xref: http://www.lmc.com.au/products/Notebook_Computers/HP_Compaq/569939/HP_Netbook_Mini_5101_%5BVM532PA%5D_Intel_ATOM_N280_1.66GHz/2Gb/320Gb_7200RPM/WL-BG/BT/10.1%5C%22LED/XP_Pro_+_Vista_Business_License|Landmark Computers]] for $769, which is a saving of $330 off the recommended retail price.

    Microsoft's newest operating system has finally hit store shelves and while you may not be the [[artnid:323165|first one to pick up a copy|Gerry Harvey sells first copy of Windows 7]], you can still pick up a great bargain by shopping around. You can choose between three different editions (check out which one [[Artnid:275369|suits you|Windows 7 to ship in six different versions]]), but prices vary between stores. Both [[xref:http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4ae0d6ab0480e86a273fc0a87e01070a/Product/View/XS8095|Dicksmith Electronics]] and [[xref:http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Software-and-Computer-Books/Microsoft-Software/MSWIN7HPR|Officeworks]] are offering the full Home Premium version for $268. However, Officeworks is currently offering some of the cheapest retail prices for the [[xref:http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Software-and-Computer-Books/Microsoft-Software/MSWINPRO7|Professional|Officeworks: Windows 7 Professional]] and [[xref:http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Software-and-Computer-Books/Microsoft-Software/MSWINULT7|Ultimate editions|Officeworks: Windows 7 Ultimate]], at $378 and $398 respectively.

    It isn't all about Windows 7 today. The Nokia E71 is a sleek and stylish smartphone with full QWERTY keyboard and a wealth of features. In addition to HSPDA connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.     If you're in the market for your first digital SLR camera, the Nikon D90 is still one of the best models out there. It's a 12.3-megapixel model that was released one year, and it was one of the first digital SLR cameras that could record video (at a high-definition resolution, no less). For keen videographers, it won't replace a camcorder, but if you only shoot the occasional holiday movie or backyard BBQ shenanigans, it will do nicely. It's available at [[xref:http://d-d-photographics.com.au/nikond90.htm|Discount Digital Photographics]] in a couple of different kits, but the body on its own costs $1145, which is a saving of $400 off the original recommended retail price.

    The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 is a super-thin 'fashion' camera, but its 4x optical zoom and a 12.1mp sensor make it reasonably versatile. The bright and clear 3.5in touch screen makes it easy to frame your shots. You can get it for $124 less than the RRP when buying from [[xref:http://digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod5781.htm|Digital Camera Warehouse|Digital Camera Warehouse: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900]].

    We've only recently looked at Sanyo's 32in model of the XR9DA series, and we liked its DVD up-scaling quality and high brightness levels.     If you already have Windows Vista, you don't have to pay full price to get Windows 7; just pick up an upgrade for one of the three Windows 7 editions.     The JVC Everio GZ-X900 is a feature-packed Full HD camcorder that records to removable flash memory.
