  • We've just got our hands on the [[artnid:522291|Huawei MediaPad 10 Link 4G]], a tablet Vodafone has called the "fastest" in Australia. It supports the LTE Category 4 mobile data standard, the newest and fastest class of 4G. Let's take a look!

The retail packaging for the Huawei MediaPad 10 Link 4G.

  • The back of the box lists the specifications. The tablet is powered by Huawei's own K3V2 1.2GHz quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM.

  • Unboxing the Huawei MediaPad 10 Link 4G (yes, it's a real tongue twister).

  • The sales package includes an Australian AC adapter and a standard USB-to-microUSB cable.

  • The back of the MediaPad 10 Link 4G has a smooth, aluminum finish with a white plastic piece across the top. It feels relatively well constructed, though the plastic does creak when pressure is applied to the case.

  • Huawei branding is prominent on the front, underneath the display.

  • A standard 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port for charging sit on the right side of the tablet.

  • On the left there's a lock/power button and a volume rocker. The latter feels a little flimsy and loose but provides decent tacility.

  • The Huawei MediaPad 10 Link 4G has dual speakers on the back, on either side.

  • There's a 3-megapixel camera on the back for still photos and videos, and a front-facing VGA camera for video calls.

  • The MediaPad 10 Link 4G comes with just 8GB of internal memory but a microSD card slot is available. It's hidden behind a plastic flap along the top, next to the full-sized SIM card slot.

  • Aside from its Category 4 support, the MediaPad 10 Link 4G is a fairly run of the mill Android tablet. It's 10.1in IPS display has a low resolution of 1280x800.

  • If you look closely, you'll see that text and finer detail can appear hazy and pixelated.

  • The Huawei MediaPad 10 Link 4G will be available through Vodafone from Wednesday, 14 August. We'll have a full review published in the next week.
