In pictures: HP Announces new EliteBook, ZBook business laptops

New SMB and enterprise models much lighter, thinner than previous generations

  • HP's latest range of EliteBook business laptops and ZBook mobile workstations are much thinner and lighter than previous generations, with the ZBook range including the "world's first workstation Ultrabook". The new EliteBook 800 range includes 12, 14 and 15-inch models (pictured here).

  • The HP EliteBook 820 G1 features a 12-inch display and weighs just 1.33kg.

  • The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is "35 per cent thinner" than previous generations, but still features the legacy VGA port demanded by many business users.

  • The HP EliteBook 850 G1 has a 15.6-inch display, and has an 'optional Ultrabook qualification'. In other words, some configurations will meet Intel's Ultrabook specifications, whilst others may not.

  • The ZBook range of mobile workstations includes 14, 15 and 17-inch models.

  • The smallest of its mobile workstations, HP's new ZBook 14 (due early November) meets the size, weight and other requirements to be classified as an Intel Ultrabook.

  • HP's ZBook 15 mobile workstation has an optional 3200x1800-pixel display.

  • The 17-inch ZBook 17 is the largest in the range, and supports up to three mechanical hard drives plus an mSATA SSD.

  • The HP Z Display range of IPS panels has been updated with new 27 and 30-inch models, the HP Z27i and Z30i. The Z30i offers 100 per cent Adobe RGB coverage.

  • All of the ZBook range include Thunderbolt ports for high-speed storage devices and high-resolution external displays.
