Top rated laptops: January 2012

Our 10 top rated notebooks for January 2012

While Ultrabooks are the big talking in the notebook world at the moment, only two models manage to make our top rated list: Toshiba's Satellite Z830 and HP's Folio 13. Both are magnificent little units for anyone looking to purchase a thin and light laptop that's also comfortable to use and which has a good amount of built-in features.

A couple of Fujitsu laptops make the list this month: the LifeBook SH771 is a business model that's a little more serious than an Ultrabook, and the LifeBook TH701 offers good versatility thanks to the inclusion of a touchscreen, which accepts both finger and pen inputs.

The huge Toshiba Qosmio X770 also makes the list this month. Its style won't be to everyone's taste, but it has enough grunt under the hood to capably run most today's modern games.
