Trend attacks malicious Java

Anti-virus company Trend Micro has released a new product to protect networks from malicious Java applets downloaded from the Internet.

InterScan AppletTrap, stops malicious ActiveX, Java and JavaScript code at the Internet gateway of a network, automatically wrapping the code to prevent it from harming the network whilst it is in transit to the client.

Designed to run on Windows NT 4.0 networks, InterScan AppletTrap features a three-tier security system:

Java and ActiveX certificates are verified prior to entering the Internet gatewayJava and ActiveX code is filtered and compared to known malicious codeCustomisable policies allow network managers to shut down appletsPricing for InterScan AppletTrap starts at $527 for a 24-seat license.
