Internode upgrades Tasmania NBN upload speeds

SA-based ISP significantly boosts upload speeds for selected NBN services in Tasmania

South Australia-based ISP, Internode, has ramped up its upload speeds on Tasmania’s National Broadband Network (NBN).

The upgrade, which will be applied free of charge to subscribers, is as followed:

  • Upload speed for Internode’s 25Mbps download plan is up from 2Mbps to 5Mbps
  • Upload speed for the 50Mbps download plan is up from 4Mbps to 20Mbps
  • Upload speed for the 100Mbps download plan is up from 8Mpbs to 40Mbps

“A key benefit of these faster upload speeds is that they better support new and emerging applications such as high-definition IP video conferencing,” Internode product manager, Jim Kellett, said.

“Faster upload speeds also improve the performance of telecommuting via Internet virtual private networks, and support emerging business demands for cloud computing and networked data storage.”

Changes to upload speeds began on January 8 and take two weeks to complete.
