LG-Ericsson announces new network switches for SMBs

iPECS ES series of switches offer Green savings

LG-Ericsson has recently introduced a variety of Ethernet switches specifically designed for small to medium businesses (SMBs).

The iPECS ES-2000 and iPECS ES-3000 series were launched by Aria Technologies, exclusive Australian distributor for LG-Ericsson.

The intelligent power saving and connectivity devices boast features that reduce electricity bills by up to 40 per cent, when compared to network switches without green Ethernet functionality.

The iPECS switches detect inactive devices connected via Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and automatically power down the individual ports, alleviating electricity costs for businesses.

They adjust the amount of power supplied to each device by detecting the length of its cable.

Marketing manager of Aria Technologies, Chris Karagiannis, said SMBs need to implement such technology to keep up with larger competitors.

“The number one priority for SMBs is having the technology capability that will help them level the playing field,” he said.
