The much rumoured new handset from Nokia has been shown on the firm's website. The landing page doesn't give any details on specifications or any real details on the device but does confirm the Lumia 928 name.

The news follows a magazine ad for the Lumia 928, spotted by Engadget, with mentions of a PureView camera, a Carl Zeiss lens and Optical Image Stabilisation technology. The advert boasts of the smartphone's prowess in low light conditions.

The handset looks like the current flagship Lumia 920 and will presumably be the new flagship smartphone from Nokia. The phone will run Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system.

We'll have to wait until next week for further details as Nokia has a press event scheduled for 14 May in London. It's also rumoured that Nokia will launch a Lumia Catwalk 925 device along with the Lumia 928.
