Kids get their own travel app

iOS app claimed to enhance travel for children and parents

Children now have their very own travel app for iOS devices.

The new interactive application, Bound Round, has been designed by children for children. It is targeted at eight- to twelve-year-olds and has been launched with 60 city overview guides. The app also has seven detailed destination guides included in its database.

Bound Round founder and CEO, Janeece Keller, said the goal of the application is to be at the forefront of innovation for children’s travel experiences and education.

“Through our global release kids can whirl around the world at the swipe of a finger and learn about the variety of cultures and experiences that exist in an entertaining and engaging way. We also enable them to have a greater say in holiday destination experiences.”

The app is designed to get children to engage with the places they are visiting. Bound Round’s goal is that young users will explore the destinations they are traveling to before and during their trip. The company says this will enhance the traveling experience through education and interaction.

Bound Round claims the app will be useful to parents as well because they will be able to access information on what children enjoyed about a specific part of their trip.

The company claims the main feature of the app is the separation of content and technology. This enables content to be updated on an ongoing basis. Bound Round claims this will keep it fresh and relevant for its young users.

The detailed destination guides included at launch are Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Uluru, Canberra, Hong Kong and Fiji. Bound Round says it will be releasing more destinations before Easter such as Singapore, Tokyo, Phillip Island and Cairns.

The Bound Round app is available from the App store for A$2.99
