Oppo debut flagship Find X smartphone with almost no-bezels

Oppo have debuted their first smartphone with almost zero bezels and a pop-up camera.

At a glance, the new Oppo Find X comes off as very similar to Vivo's recently-announced Vivo Nex. It incorporates a motorized selfie-camera that slides up out of the top of the device, allowing the phone to rock front-facing aesthetics that are almost entirely bezel-less.

According to Oppo, "Find X is the world’s first panoramic designed phone, embracing the beauty of nature into a leading technology product. OPPO Find X combines two seamless pieces of glass with the front screen featuring a gorgeous panoramic view."

As previously teased, the Find X is a 6.4-inch curved-display smartphone running on a Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB of RAM. Other specs include a 3730mAh battery, 256GB of on-board storage, a 25-megapixel front-facing camera and a dual-lens rear camera (16MP+20MP). As usual, it'll run on the latest version of the company's ColorOS Android skin and support their proprietary VOOC fast-charging.

It's also packing a form of 3D face-scanning akin to that found in the iPhone X, and support for Animoji-inspired 3D Omojis.

Oppo say the "Find X is the first Android smartphone to feature 3D Structured Light Technology. Using 15,000 facial dot recognition and intelligent analysis, O-Face Recognition is 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition for unlocking the phone."

No word yet on Australian availability and pricing but we're expecting news sooner rather than later.
