Best Optus Samsung Galaxy S21 Plans

With all the focus on the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Series release already dominating a lot of the news about phones in 2022, it's easy to forget how capable the Galaxy S21 Series still is in comparison to the newcomer. The good news is these handsets are now a lot more affordable than they were at launch. The major carriers tend to get most of Samsung's high-end phones, and these are no exception.

The baseline Samsung Galaxy S21 isn’t the most expensive device in the lineup, but it'll still cost you over AU$1000. You're looking at considerable more if you opt for the Galaxy S21+ or S21 Ultra since they sport a few upgrades over the basic S21. With that in mind, it makes more sense to buy your next smartphone on a post-paid plan rather than outright.

These days, opting for Optus over the other options doesn’t just get you mobile access, it also nets you a bunch of other benefits. You get a free subscription to Optus Sport, and another free subscription to OS Fitness. Depending how into sports or fitness you are, those bonuses might just make it worth choosing Optus over Telstra and Vodafone.

The 2022 release: The Galaxy S21 FE 5G

Like it has in the past with other Galaxy Series, Samsung released a Fan Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S21 earlier this year. The Galaxy S21 FE slims down on a few features you'll see in the Samsung Galaxy S21 while adding a few features of its own.

For example, it sports a larger 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, higher resolution (32MP) selfie camera and larger 4500mAh battery. If we had to slot it in somewhere, we'd put it between the basic Samsung Galaxy S21 and the Samsung Galaxy S21+ in regards to functionality. However, it comes at a very reasonable price for the starter model of just AU$999. Here are some of Optus' best plans for this model:

How much does the Galaxy S21 usually cost?

In Australia, the Samsung Galaxy S21 starts at a recommended retail price of AU$1,249 for the 128GB model. If you want the upgraded models, you're looking at paying AU$1,549 for the 128GB version of the Galaxy S21+ or AU$1,849 for the 128GB Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Usually, Telcos take the cost of the device and divide it by either 24 or 36 months. In the case of the cheapest Galaxy S21, you're looking at something between AU$27/month and AU$41/month plus the cost of the plan itself - which can vary based on the amount of data and extras you bundle in with it.
