Feel the beat with Philips’ latest docking systems

On the shop shelves just in time for Christmas, Philips has announced the launch of a series of new docking stations designed for iPods and other portable multimedia devices.

  • Playback options include USB direct playback for WMA and MP3, support for a wide range of iPods, an Aux-in connection for other portable music players, and FM digital tuning with presets.

  • Users can play back from sources including CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs. The DC1010 runs off both AC and battery power.

  • The DC1010 Sound Machine ($109.95) is a portable dock that includes an LCD display, AM/FM tuner, Dynamic Bass Boost.

  • The DC570 ($349.95) is a speaker tower design standing just over a meter tall. It boasts 100 RMS sound output via a 2.1 speaker system with a built-in subwoofer.

  • An LCD is conveniently located in the top corner of the unit, and it also includes Dynamic Bass Boost and 2x2W RMS total power.

  • The DC910 boasts 30W RMS power output and also features dual wOOx loudspeakers for extra bass. Music can be played via USB direct playback or SD/MMC card slots, while an FM radio includes 20 station presets.

  • Finally, the DC185 ($149.95) is another portable system.

  • The DC570 also includes Digital Sound Control and Dynamic Bass Boost. An FM radio with 40 preset stations rounds out the package.

    The DC910 ($249.95) is a slimline iPod docking system that featuring a horizontal design. It includes a table stand and offers wall-mounting options. In addition, users can rotate their iPod to both portrait and landscape positions while docked.
