Five great MP3 players for students

  • There are hundreds of MP3 and portable media players to choose from on the market. Here are five of our favourites!

    [[artnid:296018|Apple iPod shuffle (3rd generation]]

Price: $99 The Apple iPod shuffle is a straightforward MP3 player — you load it up with music, plug in some ear-bud headphones, and listen away. There's no screen to distract you, and no complicated extra features.
  • [[artnid:260149|Apple iPod Touch (2nd generation)]]

Price: $399 The Apple iPod Touch is one of the major players in the portable media player market. Its biggest selling point is the massive number of applications available on the Apple iTunes App store.
  • [[artnid:314669|Sony Walkman X-Series]]

Price: $549 Like the Apple iPod Touch, the Sony Walkman X-Series is a great PMP. It has a touch-screen interface, an excellent display and some great features like in-built active noise cancelling when used with the bundled Sony ear-bud headphones.
  • [[artnid:296845|Cowon S9]]

Price: $329 If you want a fully featured portable media player with a great screen, the Cowon S9 has to be near the top of your list. It's a competitor to the iPod Touch — and if watching video is high on your agenda, we'd choose it every time.
  • [[artnid:318236|Apple iPod Nano (5th generation)]]

Price: $199 Finally, we arrive at the MP3 player we believe will be the most popular for back-to-school buyers. The Apple iPod Nano is easy to use and stores plenty of music, and has some extra features like video recording.
