New LaserJet models 'pay for themselves'

  • Undoubtedly the most interesting product included in the launch was HP's Scanjet Professional 1000 mobile scanner. Powered via USB, it can capture documents and images at 600dpi in around half a minute. You'll be able to buy it for $295.

  • The HP OfficeJet 4500 All-in-One is the company's most affordable [[artnid:342087|inkjet multifunction printer]] series, starting at a recommended price of $129. Wired networking means the printer can be shared easily, and top-end models have integrated Wi-Fi. A flatbed scanner makes copying bulky documents easy and print speeds of up to 28 pages per minute can make short work of large print jobs.

  • HP yesterday launched a range of new LaserJet printers, scanners and [[artnid:346118|multifunction products]] that focus upon low power consumption and reduced paper usage. The HP LaserJet Pro P1102 is billed as the world's "most energy-efficient wireless laser printer" thanks to auto-on and auto-off circuitry that reduces power consumption to less than one Watt. It has a recommended retail price of $149.

  • HP's most affordable A3 colour laser printer comes in the form of the $2899 Color LaserJet Pro CP5225dn. It can handle 20ppm with both colour and monochrome printing, and is rated for up to 75,000 pages per month.

  • The HP LaserJet M1132 multifunction printer is the company's lowest price laser multifunction — it packs in scanning, copying and printing for $249, and also features HP's power-saving auto-on and auto-off technology.

  • The HP LaserJet Pro P1102 is also available as a wireless model (the P1102W) for $189. HP's new printers have drivers and software stored in integrated flash memory, eliminating the need for a software CD.

  • The HP LaserJet Pro P1566 is a no-nonsense black-and-white laser printer. It can print at 22 pages per minute from its 250-sheet tray, and has a maximum duty cycle of 8000 sheets per month, making it well suited to small businesses. It will cost $329 when it's released.

  • The LaserJet Pro M1212nf is a 4-in-1 laser multifunction, with fax capabilities as well as the ability to scan, copy, and print. With HP's auto-on and auto-off circuitry as well as automatic double-sided printing, this printer offers a large feature set for its $399.
