In pictures: Last-minute holiday gifts, 10 iPhone/iPad gadgets

Stuck for a last-minute gift? If your giftee is the proud owner of an iPhone, iPad or iPad Touch, there are plenty of gadgets to choose from. Here are some items that Apple fans will love.

  • Hasbro Monopoly zAPPed Edition Old meets new with Monopoly zAPPed Edition, which combines the classic board game with Apple's iPad (not included). Buy property, pass Go and avoid Jail with your friends and family just as before -- but here, the iPad acts as the banker (money has been replaced by credit cards) and the dice keeper, and offers mini-games in the place of the traditional Community Chest and Chance cards. This edition is particularly effective for families with small children, as the more advanced/detailed portions of the game -- such as banking -- are handled by the iPad and the mini-games offer interaction to keep the players engaged, which might help with young ones lacking the attention span to complete the original game.

  • U809A infrared remote control helicopter If you have a budding pilot on your shopping list, the U809A infrared remote control helicopter from Udirctoys might be right up their alley. This indoor helicopter can be controlled from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch (or Android phones). The built-in gyroscope helps to stabilize the helicopter's flight and the controller toggles between beginner/expert mode, which will help fans of varying experience ranges get up and running right away. The three-channel copter is capable of up/down, left/right, forwards/backwards maneuverability, features two missile launchers and offers a recording mode that remembers a control sequence. The copter's battery charge only lasts a little more than five minutes, but this little stocking stuffer will be sure to entertain.

  • Ion Piano Apprentice If music is in your children's future -- or you've got friends who've always wanted to play -- the Ion Piano Apprentice might be in order. This 25-note keyboard features a free piano teaching app (with lessons from piano instructor Scott Houston) that plays on an iOS device with a 30-pin dock connector (though it should work on devices with the Lightning connection using this adapter). The keys light up to help determine the correct notes to press. The keys aren't full-sized and you won't learn more than a few songs using the included lessons, but you may just inspire a future Mozart.

  • CoolStream Bluetooth Receiver for iDock Progression in technology marches on, and it's only a matter of waiting before new tech becomes old tech. Take the iPhone 5, for instance -- sure, it's faster, lighter and has a larger screen, but the new Lightning connector makes all old speakers with built-in 30-pin dock connectors instantly useless. If you know somebody who is dealing with that dilemma, then CoolStream's Bluetooth Receiver for iDock speakers offers relief. With this adapter, a 30-pin dock speaker set will be able to communicate with an iPhone or iPad using the Bluetooth wireless standard, pulling what was once perfectly fine technology from the brink of obsolescence.

  • CM4 Q Card Case Have your friends been complaining that there are just too many different items to carry around? Then you might want to get them the Q Card Case, which combines an iPhone case with a wallet. The case wraps the device in a minimalist, soft rubber enclosure capable of protecting your phone from drops and other accidents. It is capable of holding three credit cards, as well as your cash, all in an enclosure that doesn't add too much bulk to the iPhone's impressively thin design. With this single item, your friends can carry money, credit cards and an iPhone, without having to worry about forgetting any of them individually.

  • DriSuit Endurance waterproof protective case The iPhone's camera is pretty good in a pinch -- but unfortunately it's not so good underwater. If you know somebody who is into water sports, they need the DriSuit Endurance waterproof case. The Endurance gives full access to the touch screen of an iPhone 4/4S while keeping it safe during its adventures underwater. According to the site, it includes an integrated waterproof headphone jack and a fluidic touch screen membrane. With these features, your more adventurous giftees can shoot video and photos -- up to five meters deep for up to an hour -- and expect great results, without the fogging associated with similar underwater bags and cases.

  • Olloclip 3-in-1 lens We all know the best camera is the one you have with you when needed -- and that's often an iPhone. However, wouldn't it be better if the iPhone allowed for different lenses? The Olloclip is a solution for just that, offering three different lenses in a device measuring 1.2 x 0.8 x 1.2 in. Included are lens caps, a microfiber cleaning cloth and the Olloclip, capable of shooting fisheye, macro and wide-angle shots. The fisheye lens can encapsulate approximately 180 degrees, the wide-angle lens doubles the field of view of the normal iPhone camera lens and the macro lens zooms into objects at 10x magnification compared to the normal iPhone lens, allowing photographs within 12-15mm.

  • i-Blason PowerSlate Plus Rechargeable Battery Case for iPhone 5 If you know somebody who is always working with their phone -- and running out of power -- you might want to consider the i-Blason PowerSlate Plus Rechargeable Battery Case for iPhone 5. It not only protects the unit, but charges the device as well. This case adds a little bulk to the slim iPhone 5 design, but the 2800mAh battery has enough energy to give the phone 1.5 more charging cycles. There's an on/off switch to conserve the case's battery, and an LED power indicator shows how much juice is left. Openings in the case offer access to the iPhone's ports, and the PowerSlate's Lightning connector recharges both the iPhone and the case itself.

  • BioLogic Bike Mount for iPhone 4 If your friends and/or family members enjoy bike riding, consider the Bike Mount for iPhone 4. It keeps an iPhone 4 or 4S safely mounted on the bike's handlebars, and makes it easy to keep track of stats, stay on course and stay in touch. The Bike Mount features a tough, weatherproof polycarbonate case on the outside and is lined with silicone inside for shock absorption. There are windows in the case for the front and rear cameras, and the iPhone can be operated normally via a touch-sensitive membrane that protects the screen. The case attaches to bike handlebars with a diameter of up to 1.5 in. and can rotate from portrait to landscape mode.

  • Wahoo Blue SC Speed and Cadence Sensor The Wahoo Fitness Blue SC Speed and Cadence Sensor allows the biking enthusiast on your gift list to track and record the speed, pedal rotation rate and mileage of a bike ride. As a nice touch, an internal odometer tracks the lifetime mileage accumulated riding the bike. Using Bluetooth, the sensor can transfer the data to several iOS devices. It ships with its own app (available free from the App Store), but is also compatible with biking apps like Cyclemeter. (Note: The Fitness Blue is not compatible with anything older than the iPhone 4S, 5th-generation iPod Touch or 3rd-generation iPad.)
