The iPhone 3G S features a processor that Apple claims makes the iPhone 3G S two times faster than the iPhone 3G

  • The iPhone 3G S now allows you to send messages with text, video, photos, audio, locations and contact information. Message forwarding, previously unavailable on the iPhone, is also included.

  • The iPhone 3G S also features video recording and Voice Control, and the handset will come in 16GB and 32GB variants. Voice Control recognises contacts and music names, and allows you to dial phone numbers and play music using voice recognition.

  • The iPhone 3G S features an upgraded 3-megpixel camera with autofocus. The camera can now record VGA video at 30fps, and users can edit footage by adjusting start and end points. You can then upload the video to your MobileMe gallery, publish it on YouTube, or sync it back to your Mac or PC using iTunes.

  • The iPhone 3G S will benefit from the 3.0 iPhone software update. Among the improvements are a landscape keyboard, which will work in mail, messages, notes and Safari, and a cut, copy and paste feature.

  • The iPhone 3G S features a built-in digital compass. Combined with the new Compass app, the iPhone will automatically reorientate maps to match the direction you’re facing.

    The iPhone 3G S is a slight upgrade to the [[artnid:252856|iPhone 3G|Review: Apple iPhone 3G]], with Apple claiming the S "stands for speed". Physically, the iPhone 3G S retains an identical look and feel to the iPhone 3G, and there will once again be black and white models.

  • Other features include a universal spotlight search, Internet tethering capabilities, a new voice memo function, stocks information and built-in Nike + iPod support. The iPhone 3G S will be launched in Australia on 26 June, with pricing yet to be announced.
