The hottest laptop in the market has arrived, and it looks just like a MacBook Air
Here it is assembled.
It comes with a classy little sleeve for protection.
The front of the Zenbook tapers to produce a sharp-looking edge. It's a very thin edge -- about 3mm.
These are the little adapter that come in the package.
You also get some documentation telling you how to restore the system or create a system backup, as well as a cable tie. Full review: [[artnid:407475|ASUS Zenbook UX31 (CUX31E-RY010V) Ultrabook]]
The power adapter is tiny (about 6cm high and wide) and it doesn't take up much room on a power board.
Because the Zenbook is so thin, it doesn't have a lot of ports built in to it. The left side has one USB 2.0 port, a headphone port and an SD card slot.
Take this sleeve out and you'll be greeted by the spun-patterned aluminium finish of the Zenbook -- and it looks fantastic.
The right side has a USB 3.0 port, a micro-HDMI port and a little square port that is used to connect the extra adapters that are included in the package.
The rear is a little thicker at around 18mm.
You get a VGA adapter...
The package opens up to reveal nothing much but a document sleeve.
and a Gigabit Ethernet adapter. We would love it if it also shipped with an adapter that produced a full-sized HDMI port.
It's a pattern that really makes the notebook stand out, which is a good thing because apart from that it looks almost identical to the MacBook Air.
The ASUS Zenbook UX31 Series Ultrabook is the talk of the town right now as far as Windows-based laptops are concerned. It's a super-thin, and very well built 13in ultraportable that features an Intel Core i7 CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state drive. There are lesser models in the range, but this is the one we've been blessed to test. It costs $1999. Full review: [[artnid:407475|ASUS Zenbook UX31 (CUX31E-RY010V) Ultrabook]]
