Selected Dell Dimension desktops, Inspiron and Latitude notebooks have had their price tags slashed by up to 11 per cent.
Dell regularly cuts prices according to improved "efficiencies" in its build-to-order business model.
Selected Dimension XPS desktop PCs have had price cuts up to 11 per cent. The Dimension XPS R400 for example, with a 400MHz Pentium II processor, 6.4GB hard drive, 32x CD-ROM drive, 17in monitor and 56K modem, is now priced at $3819, down from $4196.
Selected Inspiron 3200 notebooks have also had price cuts of 11 per cent. The Inspiron 3200 D266XT with an Intel 266MHz Mobile Pentium II processor, 13.3in XGA TFT display, 3.2GB hard drive, 24x CD-ROM drive and 56K modem, has been cut by $600 to $4789 (originally priced at $5389).
Latitude CP and CPi notebooks have had price reductions by over $170. The Latitude CP M233XT for example, is now $5072, reduced by $177 from $5249. This notebook features a 233MHz Pentium processor, 512KB cache, 13.3in SVGA active-matrix display, 20x CD-ROM and 3.2GB hard drive.
