This smart laptop was enjoyable to use and great to work on – creating content was super simple.

First things first! A good first impression goes a long way and the MSI P65 looks incredible, particularly with the high resolution, 15.6-inch FHD (1920x1080) IPS-Level, screen. That alone is enough to make me highly recommend this laptop. But, of course, there is more.

The P65 looks professional and the printing of the logo and the narrow bezel display meant that the image produced by the laptop was more immersive and effective. The high resolution and fast refresh rate (144Hz) create a dynamic and beautiful image.

It is both ultra-light (1.8kg) and ultra-thin (17.9mm), making it perfect for transporting around and working at multiple locations.

The enlarged backlight keyboard took a few moments to adjust to as my muscle memory is more used to the layout of a MacBook but I did enjoy the feel of pressing keys and the wider layout works effectively and made typing with more precision easier. It also has one-touch access with Windows Hello. The built-in fingerprint sensor means whatever you do on the machine is well-protected and secure.

The laptop is powered by 9th Gen CPU with 4K resolution which delivered more than enough power to do my tasks. It ran programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro without lag or any other problems thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce graphics which deliver top-of-the-line performance.

The P65 has many of the features I look for in a laptop. The multiple USB ports and the addition of a HDMI port and a microphone port made it super easy to create and edit content. And the MSI exclusive True Color Technology provides different modes to best fit your usage.

I also used the Creator Centre which worked well as a central system for organising programs. This made it easier to transfer files between each program and made locating files in those programs much simpler.

Battery life was excellent – MSI claims over eight hours of on-the-go run time – as it consistently lasted for an extended period of time when I was running multiple programs.

This MSI laptop is certified for Quiet Fans and I would have to say that’s a fair rating as the fans were inaudible during the time I was testing the device except for a slight noise when first opening large programs. And, most importantly, it stays cool in times of heavy use due to a combination of fans and four heat pipes.

The P65 was definitely able to handle my needs as I was able to successfully edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and operate multiple other programs without any problems.

I rate the MSI P65 laptop 4.5 out of 5 – my only complaint would be the location of the charging port. Overall, this smart laptop was enjoyable to use and great to work on – creating content was super simple.

Ultimately this laptop has achieved everything I would hope for in a laptop for work, while fitting that into a form factor and weight that is remarkable.
