Vodafone Australia has announced the launch of a prepaid mobile broadband service, following the lead of rival carriers Telstra, Optus and 3 Mobile.
The Vodafone prepaid service will be sold as a $149 starter pack, which includes a slimline Internet stick, a mobile broadband–enabled SIM card and 500MB of data.
Vodafone's prepaid service can be recharged in the same manner you recharge a prepaid mobile phone service. A number of recharge plans are available, including $19 for 500MB of data, $29 for 1GB and $49 for 3GB.
Customers who recharge within 30 days can have up to 5GB of their unused data rolled over into the next month.
"Vodafone’s Prepaid Mobile Broadband service is stress-free connectivity", said Helen Tuffy of Vodafone Australia. "Users will have complete control over how much money they spend with the benefits of plug-and-play mobile Internet."
Vodafone prepaid customers can recharge their mobile broadband accounts with a credit card online at www.vodafone.com.au or at any Vodafone retail store.
Vodafone is offering customers who connect before June 30 a bonus 2GB data allowance (rather than the standard 500MB) when they purchase the starter pack.
