Cisco finally announced the newest member of its Flip family, the Flip Slide HD. This newest Flip camcorder sports a three-inch resistive touchscreen for viewing your home flicks as well as 720p video, and 16GB of storage for recording up to four hours of video.
What's so great about the resistive touchscreen? First off, it means you can interact with your Flip Slide HD with a stylus or while wearing gloves, so it's great for recording your skiing adventures when you can't take off your gloves. (Capacitive touchscreens, such as those used on the iPhone, use the electric charge from your fingertip to detect touch input.)
In addition to the big screen, the Flip Slide HD has stereo speakers and HDMI out, so you can easily show your videos off to friends. You can even customize your Flip Slide HD with your own image, or a variety of designs ranging from abstract geometric designs, to leopard print, to a whimsical cat that looks like the offspring of the Android mascot and Domo-kum.
Any drawbacks? For less than $300, there are a variety of other camcorders out there that shoot HD video--some of which shoot 1080p--and include image stabilization and more sensitive sensors.
