Origin unleashes new gaming PC with inbuilt, liquid-cooled Xbox 360

Origin combines PC and Xbox 360 gaming with The Big O

PC manufacturer Origin has announced a new gaming PC that fuses some of the fastest computing hardware on the market with an Xbox 360 Slim console.

Rather cheekily named ‘The Big O’, it comes with a fully functioning Xbox 360 under the hood. The Xbox 360 Slim has been especially modified to fit into the PC chassis, with liquid cooled processing components and easy access to the Xbox 360’s connectivity ports.

In addition to its Xbox 360, The Big O will come packed with some serious hardware in its own right. PC components include a six-core Intel Xeon X5680 CPU, an EVGA GeForce GTX 480 FTW graphics card (with options for a SLI multi-GPU configuration), up to 24GBs of Corsair GT 2000MHz RAM and a complete liquid cooling solution. A second CPU is also included, which Origin has overclocked to 4.3GHz.

Handily, the system is able to run both the Xbox 360 Slim and PC simultaneously.

According to the boys at Origin, The Big O has been designed with one aim in mind: to make high performance gamers “drool uncontrollably” -- a sentiment shared by their partners. “Wow, we can honestly say we’ve never seen a system like the Big O before,” said Ujesh Desai, general manager of the GeForce GPU business at NVIDIA. “The components selected by ORIGIN, including up to quad GeForce GTX 480 GPUs will definitely have gamers salivating.”

The manufacturer boasts that their system will “shatter any benchmark” thrown at it.

“The Big O will satisfy the demands of even the most power hungry gamer,” said Kevin Wasielewski, CEO and Co-Founder of ORIGIN. “From the hottest games on the market to digital video editing and 3D rendering, you will have the power to perform at every level.”

Sadly, you’re going to need some very big pockets to snag one of these babies. Pricing for The Big O starts from $10,699. For more information, visit Origin’s The Big O Web site.
