Western Digital has launched a new network-attached storage (NAS) device for home users. The WD MyBook Live is designed for streaming media to DLNA-compatible devices, such as some TVs, PCs, media streamers and games consoles.
The NAS device connects to a home network using a Gigabit Ethernet port, and according to Western Digital it can deliver transfer speeds of up to 100 megabytes per second.
The 1TB WD MyBook Live is available for $209.99; a 2TB model has a recommended retail price of $289.99.
