Telstra has not announced its pricing plans for the Galaxy S II, but the nation's largest telco is expected to price the phone higher than both of its rivals. Optus offers the Galaxy S II on a range of plans, starting at $0 on Optus’ $79 cap over 24 months, while Vodafone has the device for $0 on its $65 infinite plan over 24 months.
Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S II in Australia last month and described it as "the biggest mobile phone launch for Samsung this year." The news of the Galaxy S II's imminent launch on Telstra follows the announcement that HTC's flagship smartphone of 2011, the HTC Sensation, will also launch exclusively through Telstra in July.
