RankMyHack Adds Leaderboards, Achievement Points to Hacking

RateMyHack turns hacking websites into a game by adding leaderboards and scores to those who can make the most daring hacks.

Hacking has gone the way of FourSquare and gaming in general by adding scores and leaderboards for who can make the most daring hacks. We're not making this up.

RankMyHack is a community site with rankings for the top hackers who have scored the most points. Users earn points by taking down the online defenses companies and corporations--the more popular or bigger it is, the more points they earn.

As if this writing, the top hacker is a user who hacked Baidu, a popular search engine and Google-alternative in China, for 25 million points. Other top hacks on the list are CNN, The Huffington Post, Linkedin, and MapQuest .

Registered users can even take on bounties and compete in duels. While we don't necessarily condone this kind of thing, some might be awed at this sort of guild house where a beginner hacker can quickly gain notoriety. That said, we bet that companies like Sony or Lockheed Martin--or BART riders for that matter--likely won't be very happy.
